March 21 marks the beginning of spring in the Northern hemisphere only but local tree planting activities will be encouraged worldwide. This video created by FAO to celebrate the new International Day (proclaimed by the UN General Assembly last November) has a simple message: Forests sustain life -- but not infinitely.
