Expert Meeting on Governance of Forests and REDD+

Guidance frameworks for providing information and assessing forest and REDD+ governance
The meeting aims to encourage coordinated information provision and assessment of REDD+ and forest governance. It will provide an opportunity to discuss two documents:
- draft Guidance Framework for the Provision of Information on REDD+ Governance Safeguards, developed by UN-REDD and Chatham House and
- Framework for Assessing and Monitoring Forest Governance, emerging from the 2010 Stockholm meeting on forest governance led by PROFOR, the World Bank and FAO.
The meeting, organized by UN-REDD Programme, Chatham House, UNDP, FAO and the World Bank is by invitation only. PROFOR is supporting financially the travel of several participants from developing countries.
A meeting aimed at discussing guidance frameworks for providing information and assessing forest and REDD+ governance (following up on the Stockholm symposium on forest governance indicators held in September 2010).
